Hello everyone,

My name is Aysu Suluçay. I'm a 4th- grade biomedical engineering student. I’m interested in programming languages, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. During the pandemic, I started to search for some open sources about computer science actually if I have to be more specific ‘Programming languages’. I found really good sources and course websites (Maybe you know them maybe don’t) and I want to share all of them with you! ^_^

1.Real Python (https://realpython.com/)

“At Real Python, you can learn all things Python from the ground up. Everything from the absolute basics of Python to web development and web scraping, to data visualization, and beyond:”

Real python is an area where you can learn Python for free. There are tutorials and videos for learning. Also, you can choose a suitable path in “Python Learning Paths”.

2.freeCodeCamp (https://www.freecodecamp.org/)

As you can see from the name of the site, you can take courses without any charge. It is a non-profit organization. The interface looks very basic but it’s very rich in content.

After the courses, you have a chance to win a certificate. You can find more information about certificates at this link https://www.freecodecamp.org/news/freecodecamp-certifications/

3.Coursera (https://www.coursera.org/)

If you sign up with your school mail address you can take free courses and of course, you’ll earn a certificate after the course (some of the courses don’t have certificates). It basically has a lot of categories such as data science, computer science, math and logic, information technology, and more.

4.Udemy (https://www.udemy.com/)

I think everyone heard this website. It is not open-source but sometimes some courses become free. Maybe it can help you (because it helps me :p ). It is like Coursera there are a lot of courses here but I recommend you that check every course instructor and their ratings.

5.edX (https://www.edx.org/)

To be honest I just discovered this website but it looks resourceful so that’s why I wanted to add the list. There are several free courses here too but if you want to earn a certificate you have to pay for certification :(( (not cool)

6.Python Programming Language (https://python-istihza.yazbel.com/#)

If you want to Turkish source for the Python language I found this website a few years ago. It is a good source in the Turkish language. It explains with photos.

7.Kaggle (https://www.kaggle.com/)

“ Kaggle allows users to find and publish data sets, explore and build models in a web-based data-science environment, work with other data scientists and machine learning engineers, and enter competitions to solve data science challenges.” (Wikipedia)

Courses are free, you can reach the knowledge freely. If you trust your coding knowledge you can try your chance in competitions.

Bonus (https://opencv.org/)

I’m enthusiastic about Image processing. When the curfew time first came, I was trying to find a resourceful source for image processing, and if I don’t remember wrong in some online course or seminar that I attend heard this website. On this website, you can find tutorials for free.

The purpose of my post is that if you are interested or curious about computer science and you don’t know where to start, I just wanted to show you some ways. Hopes this post helps you.

Take care and be safe!

Peaceheart

Aysu Suluçay
